Djapo Cultural Arts After-School Program:

Experience a dynamic and energetic West African drum and dance workshop that brings the vibrant folklore and cultural traditions of the African diaspora to life. This interactive session, led by the Djapo Cultural Arts Institute, invites participants of all skill levels to connect through rhythms, movements, and storytelling that celebrate the rich heritage of West African arts.

Djapo Cultural Arts Institute will offer a cultural arts

after-school program for 6th-grade students, running twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays for one month. The program will begin on Monday, October 14, 2024, and conclude on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Sessions will be held in the cafeteria at EMS.

A final rehearsal date and the culminating performance—pending approval—will be announced to parents so they can attend.

Please note: The school will NOT provide transportation home for your child. It is essential that your child has transportation arranged, as the program will end promptly at 4:30 PM.

If you are interested in having your child participate, please complete and submit the permission slip below. The deadline to sign up is Saturday, October 12, 2024. Only the first 30 students who sign up will be accepted into the program. Students must have a signed permission slip submitted before they can attend.
